This super quick mushroom pate can really be made in double-quick time, and can be frozen, ready to serve your guests, when they arrive the next evening. Put 25g brown, finely chopped mushrooms in a pan, together with 60g diced butter, 1 large sprig of rosemary, 1 large clove crushed garlic, 30ml soy sauce, 30ml sweet sherry, and 1 medium, finely chopped onion, cover, and bring to a slow simmer, then uncover, and stir, for about 2 minutes or until the onions and mushrooms are soft, and most of the liquid has evaporated. Remove the pan from the heat, take out the rosemary sprig, and cool the mixture. Stir the mixture together with 250g smooth, low-fat cottage cheese, and turn into a pottery, serving dish. Cover, and refrigerate, preferably overnight. When ready to serve, garnish with a generous sprinkling or chopped parsley.

To your raw, shredded cabbage, you can add one or more extra vegetables, such as shredded carrots, which give the salad extra color, sliced celery, or chopped cauliflower. Toasted sunflower seeds, chopped peanuts, and sultanas will add extra flavor and texture. Coleslaw dressings are usually sweeter and more acid than most other salad dressings. One good dressing to make is to stir together ½ cup mayonnaise, 1 to 2 tablespoons tomato ketchup and 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Mix well into the coleslaw, and serve.

The good news is that with the right tools, and a good idea, it's easy for anyone to create something beautiful. What you need to do is draw or trace the design you want onto ordinary white paper. Then take it to a copy store, and have it put onto a plain transparency. Once you have the design on transparency, you can use an overhead projector to position it on the wall you plan to decorate, and move it around until you get the size and position you want. Then, it's a simple matter of tracing the design you've created onto the wall with pencil, and once that's done, filling it in with paint. You can choose to do any design, whether it's something fun for the kids' rooms, something trendy for your living room, or a romantic design for your bedroom.

Cooked rice should always be covered to prevent it from drying out, and refrigerated to stop it from going bad. Plastic oven bags are heatproof and tough, and are perfect for refrigerating and reheating cooked rice. While you are reheating your rice, stir it with a fork, or toss it in the bag once or twice. If the rice looks a bit dry before or during heating, simply sprinkle with a little extra water. Cooked rice can be reheated in a microwave oven, in a conventional oven, in a sieve or colander, over a saucepan of boiling water, or by pouring boiling water through the cooked rice, in a colander, although this will result in a little loss of flavor. Once your rice is reheated, you can add a little melted butter, or sautéed finely chopped vegetables, and enjoy.

Maybe a run up the stairs will wake up your mind since getting your mind pumping and blood racing often gets your mind into work mode. If people are going to give you weird looks after you come in from a run then maybe you can opt for something peaceful like breathing techniques. Practice the Buddhist way by breathing in through your stomach instead of the top half of your lungs. However, if you always feel tired, maybe it's time to tackle the root of the issue; knowing why you get tired can help you fight it when it happens.
If you're anything like me, you probably don't like photographs. I think the reason I don't is that I always feel uncomfortable posing, or somehow, I end up pulling a face or doing something else ridiculous. However, a vacation without photos is like bread without butter – just not right! So here are a few tips to help you take better holiday photos. First off, remember that you have two options – a camp, cheesy grin, or a more natural, less posed shot. If you don't feel comfortable being photographed, and are travelling with a friend, give them your camera and ask them to take shots when you are not expecting them. Alternatively, put on your biggest, whitest grin, and throw caution to the wind. After all, with digital cameras, you're only limited by the size of your memory card, so take hundreds (or thousands) and only keep the ones you love.
We all know by now that using small, cheap accent items, like throw pillows, can completely change the look of a room. But what if your throw pillows are all boring, or you can't afford to buy interestingly detailed ones? The good news is that it's cheap and easy to update your existing plain throw pillows at home. Simple ideas for updating pillows include sewing braid along the edges, and tassels on corners. You could also sew appliqués (available ready made from haberdashery stores) or beads onto the pillow in a design you like, or if you don't like sewing, why not try your hand at fabric painting? Use your creativity when adding embellishments, but make sure that you take the cover off the cushion when doing so, as it ma kes them a whole lot easier to work with!
Although you might have arranged for a gift list through a specialist company or department store, but there will be a few guests who will choose their own personal gift for you, and bring it to the reception. Instead of trying to open these gifts there and then, make sure to have a special table set aside, in full view of everyone, so that nothing goes missing, and ask these guests to put the gifts there. If some of your guests have envelopes of money or vouchers, it would be a good idea to ask your father or the best man to keep it for you in an inside pocket until a later date. You could also have a pretty box handy for those guests who will sometimes give you cards and mementoes, which can be very hard to keep track o f at a loud reception.
Diabetes is the lack of insulin, the hormone that gets glucose, or sugar, into the body cells. Although the cause isn't known, it could be a reaction to an infection. Once you child has been diagnosed, he will need hospital treatment in the beginning, as an in-patient. Treatment of childhood diabetes i s very specialized, but there are ways for you to helm him take it in his stride. Give him insulin injections regularly, and reassure him and stay calm yourself. Learn all you can about the disease, and make sure that family and carers are also well informed.

Nowadays, each platform uses many of the standard smileys, as well as some pretty unique ones. On Skype's chat platform, for instance, you can send flowers, coffee, or pizza, among other things. Facebook has robot smileys and even penguins. So have a little fun, and add a few smiley's to your chat!
If you've ever been to a used car lot, or heard any of the jokes about used car salesmen, then you will probably know that buying a used car can be an experience. All of the cars on the lot are freshly polished to look their best, and have a synthetic ‘new car' smell, designed to put you at ease. However, while looks are important, they're not everything. When you look at a used car, the first thing you want to do is pay attention to detail. Are the tires new or in good condition? Do windscreen wiper blades work, or are they perished? Take note of the little things, because it's these that will give you an indication of how the car's previous owner treated it. Next, make sure you take the car on a test drive, and if you don't know muc h about cars, take a friend who does with. Have them look at the engine too. Often, perished hoses, or telltale oils spots in the engine bay can speak volumes about the condition of the engine – it might only be holding on by a thread, only to give up, spectacularly and expensively, a few weeks or months after you drive it home!

It's a fact of life that while we may look up to, admire and aspire to be like movie stars, very few of us ever will be. However, sometimes, you need to get a movie star look for a formal dinner, or some other occasion. Borrow an idea from the stars that looks great on just about everyone, and look for a gown that has a Grecian influence. The soft draping, high waisted cinching and narrow straps will flatter just about everyone, and cover a multitude of sins. Another idea, if you have a great body, is the latest trend towards ripped or slashed clothing. One shouldered looks are also hot, but make sure that you have the right kind of bust support, or you will just end up looking droopy!
