Why Local Weather Knowledge is Important When Travelling.

Having good detailed information about the local weather patterns to be expected in your travels will prepare you for what is ahead and help you avoid disappointment. A perfectly good holiday can be ruined if you find yourself stuck in torrential rains or seasonal storms or horribly uncomfortable heatwaves. It is wise to use google and search for local weather reports for the city and region you intend to visit. Try to access archives or weather reprts from previous years and look up extreme weather conditions. Very often weather patterns can be completely different from city to city in a particular country. If you are counting on pleasant weather, don't just blindly book for su mmer. Some regions have most of their rainfall in the summer months. Cape Town in South Africa, for example, has its best weather months during the early autumn from March to May. The summer weather is rather horrid, consisting mostly of unpleasantly windy days with a couple of heatwaves in-between.
