Why You Should Copy CDs and DVDs

Now, far be it from me to advocate piracy of music or movies. However, I am a big fan of making copies of your own original CD's and DVD's, and I'll tell you why. First off, while they don't cost a fortune, original copies of music and movies are a lot more expensive than copies, which are available at the price of a blank disk. That means that if (or when) they get scratched, you don't have the expense of replacing an original – just burning a new copy. Another point in the favor of making copies is if you take your disks in your car with you. You never know when your car might be burgled, or even if it may get too hot, damaging your disks. By using copied versions in the car, you eliminate the chance of damaging them.
