Why Hollywood Stars Choose to Stay 'In the Closet'

The recent revelations of superstar Ricky Martin's homosexuality lead me to wonder why Hollywood stars feel compelled to lie about their sexuality. The only thing I could come up with was that perhaps it really is all commercial. I mean, Ricky Martin clearly kept up the pretence so that his legion of teenage girl fans would keep buying his records. However, with changing attitudes, you have to wonder why Martin, and other stars like George Michael, Ellen DeGeneres and her lovely wife, Portia Di Rossi and others chose to keep their sexuality a secret for so long. I say, be true to yourself, and you can't go wrong.
