Synthetic fabrics may have a bad reputation, but there's something to be said for the ease with which they can be cared for and worn. After all, pure cotton looks amazing – but do you really have the time to spend ironing out the inevitable creases? Didn't think so. The trick to wearing synthetics is to look for blends. A wide variety of synthetic fibers are added to natural fibers like cotton and linen, to add stretch, make them drape better and make them easier to care for. Lycra, for instance, is often what gives denim it's stretch (and we all love a pair of jeans with stretch, don't we?) Polyester can make cotton less likely to crease, and even nylon and other synthetics can enhance the properties of natural fabrics. So before you turn your nose up at synthetics, consider the benefits.
