I always find it particularly interesting when celebrities are manufactured, particularly when that happens on the internet. Perez Hilton, otherwise known as Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr, started his blog in 2004, and quickly rose through the ranks of bloggers around the world, largely due to his controversial style, and his complete disregard of any of the ‘rules.' Even so, he does have one of the top five blogs in terms of earnings, so you could say he is laughing all the way to the bank. It hasn't all been success stories though. A snide mention by Fergie in a song, getting the Michael Jackson death story horribly wrong, and continuing to ‘out' Hollywood celebs have meant that while his reader ship is as strong as ever, he's one of the most hated men in Hollywood. Not a good place to be, even if you have appeared in a Britney Spears video!
