The Secrets of Recognizing Common Ailments

There are certain ailments that are very common in many very young babies. Dry skin is very common in babies, especially those born after the due date. Baby lotion or oil after a bath will relieve and soothe dry skin. Ammonia and other chemicals in the urine, can irritate a baby's skin, and cause nappy rash. This happens often if the nappy is left on for too long. Letting your baby lie without a nappy for a while will help to clear up nappy rash, as well as smoothing on a thin layer of barrier cream before putting on a clean nappy. Sometimes, thrush, an infection, which is caused by yeast, called candida, or monilia, can cause nappy rash. It is best to see your doctor if the condition doesn't improve.
