Why You Should Still Own a Petticoat… or Two

I used to think my grandmother strange. She would never wear a dress without a petticoat, or ‘slip' as she called it. However, while it's now perfectly acceptable to eschew the slip, it may still be worth investing in one or two. First off, they're a saving grace when the dress you're wearing is a little bit see through – they'll preserve your modesty, which is important if you're going for a classy look! Of course, there's also an old world, sexy charm to them. Granny also used to say that a petticoat peeking out from a hem meant that you were ‘looking for a boyfriend.' While her old fashioned view may be outdated, it's still sexy in an old fashioned, cute kind of way.
