If you've travelled a lot, or even just a few times, you will know that most countries have specific health requirements, on which getting a visa depends. However, those requirements may not always cover every possible health risk in the country or area that you are visiting, and it's always worth visiting your doctor, or a specialist in travel, before you leave. Not only can they advise you of any additional risks you may be facing, but they can also give you a medical examination, to determine that you are fit to fly, or for any other rigours your trip may include. This is especially true if you are pregnant, have an existing condition, or are in another high risk category.
