How To Do Basic Tyre Inspection

Having a look at the condition of your tyres once a week will not only alert you to possible long term problems, but could also help prevent dangerous incidents like blow-outs. First look at the side walls for gouge marks or cracks. Tyres are easily damaged by careless cornering around kerbs, or grazing pavements when parking. Also look broken nails or sharp bits of glass or metal stuck in the tread. Even if you don't drive your car much, tyres can start cracking just from age and sun exposure, especially if you park your car outside during the day.
