How to protect your Child from Life-threatening Illnesses

Immunization, which has more or less eradicated many serious illnesses, is a very important means to protect your child from certain life-threatening illnesses. The more your child is vaccinated, the better the protection for the population. Vaccinating stimulates the immune system into producing antibodies, which fight infection. These antibodies will protect your child, should she come into contact with the disease. If you are worried about immunization, ask your doctor for advice. If your child has a mild cold, she can still be immunized, however, if your child is feverish, you can delay the immunization, until she is better. Your baby or child usually needs immunization against polio, diphtheria, tet anus, whooping cough, Hib, and Meningitis C, measles, mumps, rubella, and tuberculosis.
