Why You Should Not Buy a Car As Is

Often, we see cars listed in classified sections of newspapers and elsewhere that are listed for sale ‘as is.' These cars may look like great deals, but they may be more trouble than they are worth, and here is why. When you buy a car as is, you are really taking everything at face value. While some sellers may tell you the truth about the car, and they may really be giving you a bargain, others may downplay any issues, leaving you thinking there's minor work to be done, when in fact it could cost you a fortune. Sometimes, unscrupulous sellers will even try to actively conceal damage or repairs that are needed, for instance by having panels repaired with body filler instead of replaced. The end result is usually that the car you thought was a great bargain ends up costing you much more than a much better car would have.
