Tips on which Beaches to Visit in Cape Town.

With the exposure of the Cape Peninsula during the 2010 Soccer World cup, many visitors will want to visit the scenic beaches surrounding the city. If you are looking for a pleasant, safe beach for tanning and walking along, then the beaches of Clifton are perfect, located on the west side of the peninsula. Busses are the best way to get there, or use rental cars or scooters. The sun sets fairly late in summer and there are many restaurants and bars with spectacular views around the beach. The water is fairly cold, being on the Atlantic ocean side. On the south eastern side of the peninsula is Muizenberg beach, a popular family beach, great for swimming and surfing. The water is warmer, due to the Benguella current from Mozambique. Further south is Kalk Bay and Fish Hoek. Kalk Bay is has a fishing har bor and Fish Hoek offers swimming and surfing. The southern tip has Boulders Beach in Simons town. It boasts huge boulders and a penguin colony. Noordhoek beach is on the south western tip and has awesome hiking trails and is good for surfing.
