Secrets of After Birth Pain

So, you thought that the pain of the birth was it, right? Wrong! Many women continue to experience pain for four to six weeks after the birth, as the uterus shrinks back to its ‘normal' size. The process, called involution, is normal, and happens to everyone. Of course, if you've had a c-section, the air in your abdomen from the procedure will add to this, and the cut. Going to the toilet often to relieve the pressure of a full bladder on the uterus is a good idea, and your doctor should be able to prescribe a painkiller. Since pain Is often experienced while breastfeeding, make sure they're safe for your baby too! Heat, in the form of warm baths and showers, or a hot water bottle, is another effective treatment for after birth pain.
