When you invest in anything, you want to make money, right? However, with most types of investment, there are risks. Generally, the higher the risk, they higher the reward you are likely to reap, but then again, the greater the chance you will lose everything. There are such things as riskless investments – like government bonds and so on. However, while your money is safe, you won't see huge returns, and you'll be lucky if your initial investment beats inflation by the time it reaches fruition. Of course, what you need to do is find out everything you possibly can about a particular investment vehicle and the company or individual that is offering it. Do your homework, find out the t rack record, and use this to make an educated guess as to the future safety of that investment.
