In days gone by, it was tradition for the bride and groom to get to the reception, cut the cake, and after the speeches, leave on their honeymoon. These days though, it is very different. Today, couples want to enjoy the fruits of their months of labor, and stay for the reception, along with everyone else. Sometimes they choose to stay overnight at a special venue, and then leave for their honeymoon the next day. In this case, they usually put someone in charge of their luggage that will see to it that these are safely delivered to them at the reception venue. Another good idea is to have someone be in charge of any door keys that the bride and groom might need after the reception. In al the confusion and excitement of the morning, t hey sometimes forget about keys, and find that they cannot get into their home when they need. to. This causes a lot of unnecessary stress if they need to leave in a hurry on their honeymoon.
