How to Save Money on Car Servicing and Repair

Depending on the make and model of your car, taking it to dealerships for basic servicing is not always necessary. Most general auto repair workshops are cheaper than dealerships and the workmanship is much the same, if not better. Dealerships will very often use semi-skilled workers whose tasks are overseen by a mechanic; where as smaller workshops will use less staff with more experience and qualifications. As long as the workshop is accredited and the mechanics have a good reputation, you aren't doing the wrong thing by saving money. Dealerships are notoriously more expensive in terms of charging for labor and parts. Sometimes it is necessary to use dealerships though. If your car has complicated electronic compo nents and systems that need diagnostics, dealerships usually have exclusive manufacturer testing stations and diagnostic machines.
