How to Deal With Colic

When your baby has long bouts of loud crying, and is inconsolable, usually starting from about two weeks of age, it could be colic. In the first three months, these long bouts of intense crying, are common, especially in the evening, and can last for about two or three hours. Usually, babies who have colic, pull up their knees, clench their fists, and go red in the face, and cry loudly. Sometimes, for a few babies, physical problems, particularly digestive disorders, can also cause unexplained bouts of crying. An examination by your doctor will rule out any possibility that your baby is ill, and give you advice as to how to cope with colic. Ask your friends and family for help during this very challenging time.
