Why You Should Visit Rio for the Carnival

Okay, so it may seem odd to attempt to convince anyone to visit Rio. I mean, beaches, samba, Brazilian men, what's not to love? However, if you are planning a trip to this Brazilian hotspot, you should save it for Carnival! Known around the world as one of the largest parties around, this truly is an experience not to be missed. In fact, during the time of Carnival, the whole city practically shuts down, and the streets are filled with music, dancing, color, light, sounds and smells. Think Mardi Gras in New Orleans, multiplied by a factor of ten, and you have an idea. In fact, the government, understanding the state of the populace after the festivities are over, gives workers a public holiday to recover before returning to work!
