Although your wedding is more than likely going to be a big expense to you, you should pay for the bridesmaids' dresses. Lately, it is normal to ask adult bridesmaids to pay for their dresses, with the explanation that they would have to pay for an outfit for the wedding anyway. Your bridesmaids would not buy the type of dress they are going to wear as your bridesmaid, but rather something of their choice, and not the same as the other bridesmaids.
