How to Travel Safely With Animals

If you're taking a long journey with your pets, whether you're moving house or just taking a vacation, there are a few important rules you should remember. First, unless your pets are well behaved and used to the car, it's well worth buying travelling crates for them to spend their time in the car in. A loose, panicked pet in a car is a recipe for disaster! Next, you will want to make sure that you have food and water on hand for your pets, and that you make regular stops along the way to let them out, to stretch their legs and perform their ablutions. There's not much worse than travelling in a car that smells… well…bad! Travelling with your pets is entirely possible, just make sure that they are always on a leash or unde r your control, whether inside or outside the car, and that you never leave them unattended in a parked car – cars heat up very, very quickly, and your pet might get heat stroke, or even die!
