How to Store a Car You’re Not Using

If you have a car that you won't be using for a long time, the very last thing you want to do is let it sit in a driveway or a garage, even if it's covered. Wind, rain, sun, and even the air, as well as temperature fluctuations, can cause paint to fade, rubber to perish, and all kinds of other degradation. The result of this is, of course, that when you do want to drive it again, it's beyond help. Parking a car in a garage that's relatively weather proof is the best way to ensure that the elements don't cause havoc with it. You will also want to fill up the fluids in the car, as leaving them empty can allow corrosion, the enemy of engines everywhere, to set in. Cylinder housings should be lined with oil, again to prevent corrosion an d spark plugs should be removed.
