How To Make Sure Your Car Is Serviced Properly

Most new cars are sold with an inclusive service plan for an average of three years or 100, 000 Miles. Pre-owned cars need to be serviced at dealerships in order to prove that the proper parts and procedures were done during its service history. Whether you are paying for the regular service directly, or as part of the installments on a new car, you should make sure you are getting your money's worth. The car manufacturer provides the dealership mechanics with an official checklist of tasks to do, parts to check and parts to fit for your car. Many dealerships will try to take short cuts in the inspection procedures and try to save money by not supplying new parts. Check your account before you pay and see what exactly you ha ve been billed for and whether or not the new parts were fitted or supplied. If you were charged for an oil change, check the dipstick: if the oil is black, then the it was not changed. New oil is a golden color and semi-transparent.
