How to Get Away with Black Hair

There's something about black hair that's always got to me - glossy, shiny, and downright gorgeous. However, if you're not already blessed with raven hued locks, you might find yourself admiring it from afar, rather than taking the plunge and getting your colorist to go for it. The truth is, even pale skins can work with black hair, as long as you choose the right shade. For instance, there are blacks with red, violet, and even blue undertones. Choosing one that works with your skin tone, whether warm or cool, will be what makes or breaks the look. Make sure that you discuss this with your colorist, and remember that if you have naturally fairer hair, you will have to have regular root retouching sessions, or face the dreaded skunk stripe look. A nother useful idea is to have your eyebrows tinted too, since pale brows and midnight hair is a dead giveaway!
